Regarding Flood Barriers, Gates & Doors
- Please tell me about the waterproofing performance.
- The standard is 20ℓ/㎡ or less per hour. We have conducted water filling experiments in all our product factories and confirmed that the amount of water leakage is less than this standard.
- Why is the standard set at 20ℓ/㎡ or less per hour?
- The former Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications established standards for water panels to prevent water from flooding into post office premises, and the value of 20l /m2 or less per hour is the standard they set. Similar values have been adopted by the Japan Sewage works agency, and our products also comply with those standards.
- How many meters of water pressure (water depth) can it withstand?
- This varies greatly depending on product type, installation and site conditions. If it is a simple type flood barrier panel, it will approximately withstand a depth of 1 meter. If it is a normal door (about W900*H2000), we have tested this product in our factory to withstand a water pressure equivalent of 15m. We will perform structural calculations based on your desired performance and conditions and make the best proposal tailored to the situation, so please feel free to contact us.
- How long does the waterproof rubber last?
- Since this greatly depends on the installation environment, there is no specific estimate as to how many years it will last. Under normal circumstances, the rate of deterioration is completely different between being constantly exposed to ultraviolet rays and being constantly blocked by a storage box or the like.
- There is a photo of a water test being carried out on site, but since the product has been tested and its performance confirmed at the factory is this really necessary?
- We believe that water testing inside the factory and water testing of items installed at the construction site are similar but different. At the actual site, some errors may occur due to construction accuracy. In the case of Flood Protection Panels, accuracy errors can affect the panels flood prevention performance. If requested by the customer, we can install a temporary enclosure to simply store water at the installation site and perform a performance test on the newly installed product. Please note that an additional fee will be charged for these on-site product performance tests.
